“Attending Rachel’s childbirth class was one of the most valuable steps we took to prepare for the birth of our daughter. The classes were fun and Rachel was very engaging, covering a wide range of helpful topics for both my husband and me. We were able to approach our daughter’s birth with confidence and make thoughtful decisions based on what we learned in our childbirth classes. Rachel is an amazing resource, and I highly recommend her and her classes to anyone.” -Ilia G.

“Rachel was my doula for the birth of my 2nd child. I went natural for my first birth as well, but without hiring a doula. I can testify to the incredible difference it makes having a doula verses not having one. I always tell people how my 2nd birth was so much more enjoyable. She helped me deal with the pain and fears of childbirth in empowering ways. Rachel helped me be present and actively involved in my birth. When I would begin to slip into delirium, she would pull some doula magic out to bring me back. She was a valuable team member that peacefully fought for the birth I desired, and helped me achieve little goals I had set, all while keeping mine and baby’s health at the front. I am having baby #3 in a few weeks, and you’d better believe Rachel will be there!” -Kristin O.

From a dad’s perspective:

“Rachel was a fantastic resource for our 2nd daughters birth. We did not use Rachel for our first child and we ended up having an emergency csection. After our second child and what Rachel helped us do, I’m confident we would have had a natural birth with our first daughter also. With that being said, Rachel helped me and my wife stay on track. She was able to suggest ideas and positions that were able to keep us progressing. Her hands on approach was just what we needed. During our first child’s birth we got tired and had no motivation. Using Rachel for our second child not only did we have a successful unmedicated birth, it was a vbac which is a pretty special thing. Rachel was able to keep us motivated, and helped us to have a very successful labor! I do not think we could have done it by ourselves. Her knowledge and ideas were invaluable! If we have a third child she will be the first person we call! She is a rockstar doula and you should definitely consider her services!” -Jamie B.

“Rachel was our doula for our fourth child and I can not say enough about what a beautiful experience it was working with her!  She was recommended by our pediatrician, who knew that after three previous inductions and epidurals I really longed to go into labor on my own and have a natural childbirth. Rachel was key in educating me on my body during the last stages of pregnancy (since I had never gone into labor on my own!) and my rights as a patient. She also was a huge encouragement while I waited it out (10 days over my due date) and during my labor. Having her come to our home allowed me to labor almost entirely at home and give my husband the reassurance he needed as well.  I honestly believe having Rachel allowed me to have the birthing experience that I had prayed for!” -Melissa L.

“Rachel was our doula during the births of our second and third children. After some unexpected complications that resulted from having an epidural with my first child, I knew I wanted to do it differently for future births. Still, the thought of being unmedicated during a scheduled induction with my second completely terrified me. Rachel was an amazing source of comfort and support during that time and provided me with so much valuable information to help me mentally and emotionally prepare for the birth.  She was also a strong advocate and support in the delivery room and I am certain that I would not have achieved the birth I had planned and desired had it not been for her. When I became pregnant with my third, it was a no brainer to invite her to be there with us again (which was my first spontaneous birth – woohoo!). My husband and I will forever be grateful to her for assisting us during these miraculous times in our life.”  -Lindsay Z.

“I was 38 weeks pregnant and terrified of the hospital experience. I was afraid something would go wrong. I am one to always think the worst is going to happen. Anyways, I was sharing some of these fears with a friend who has had three children of her own. She then told me about Rachel and how she may be able to help me with my fears. Rachel and I talked on the phone for a while then she came to my house and explained everything to me and my husband. She gave great examples and showed me ways to overcome pain. Fast forward to November 28, I was two weeks late and was headed to the hospital. Rachel was my voice. She communicated everything with the doctors and nurses. She worked well with them. She sat with me and my husband through the whole process. On November 30th at 4AM I got an epidural (something I really was terrified of because of the things that could go wrong). At Noon I started to push. At 1:30PM the nurses turned OFF my epidural. See you know, God knew the plan and knew I would need Rachel. Finally after hours of pushing, Avery Rhea was born at 6:29. She was so healthy and precious! The prettiest pink baby you have ever seen! Rachel stayed with us and made sure everything was being taken care of with the nurses and doctors, making sure they were doing what we wanted for our baby.” -Amanda K.

“Rachel graciously took me on as a client when my original doula had to move for her husband’s job transfer. I was 37 weeks pregnant and pursuing a VBAC. Rachel’s knowledge, calm, and loving attitude was indispensable to my husband and myself as we prepared for birth. After a whirlwind labor in which Rachel was an integral part of keeping me calm and equipping my husband to support me, we had a successful VBAC birth! Words cannot express how much I appreciate her support. I really cannot imagine birthing again without her!” -Abby C.
